December Fellowship Meeting

FBBF MEETING at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH @ HARMONY
Monday, December 8th, 2008
Theme: Celebrating our Partnership in Church Planting
Schedule:
10:30am – Officers’ Meeting
11:30am – Speaker: Dan Pride
After spending nearly 25 years in ministry, Dan received a special calling from God 3 years ago to start a new church in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the city in which he had grown up. In September 2005, Dan moved to downtown Indy and began laying the foundation for this new church. The result of Dan's following this calling is now Indy METRO Church, which had its first official service on Sunday, September 10, 2006. IMC is a downtown community of faith committed to loving people, honoring the Truth of Scripture, and being immersed in the community. IMC is the third church Dan and his wife Cindy have started, with the goal of helping start many more throughout urban centers in America over the next 10 years.
12:15pm – Lunch & Business Meeting
All ladies attending the meeting will have their own luncheon and devotional with Julie Murray at the Murray’s house.  Ladies are asked to bring their best piece of advice for a young pastor’s wife.
1:15pm – Speaker: Wayne Guinn
Wayne is the Director of the BBFI National Church Planting Office whose goal is to network with local churches and state fellowships for the purpose of planting Baptist churches of like faith and vision.  The NCPO seeks to enlist, train, equip, and qualify church planting candidates with a great commission vision.  The NCPO also seeks to develop a financial office that will provide financial consulting services, provide materials and resources that will produce a strong stewardship foundation for every local church, and provide capital funding resources for qualified churches.  Joe Murray attended the first NCPO School, and Wayne was instrumental in God’s leading Joe to plant a church in Harmony.
2:00pm – Speaker: Glenn Stockton a.k.a. “The Pastor’s Friend”
Over 8 years ago Glenn resigned as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Melbourne, Florida after 39 years as a pastor. He didn't resign from the ministry, but took on another ministry of "Encouragement to Pastor's."   In a recent article he wrote, “I would like to thank all of you pastors for having me in your church to minister to you and your people. Sarah and I feel God has blessed us tremendously. We have been busy almost every week filling the pulpit , and speaking at revivals, mission conferences, banquets and seminars. We will continue to do this as long as you will have us and God gives us the health to do so. Once again thank you for your confidence in us.” It was under Pastor Stockton’s ministry in Youngstown, Ohio that Joe Murray (as an 8 year old boy) and his family trusted Christ as Savior!
3:15pm – Tee Time: 9 holes of golf for only $15
After golf, feel free to grab a bite to eat at the Town Tavern or Greensides Restaurant.
